Discover Our Story

Helpful Hooves is a charity based in Gwithian, Cornwall, specializing in equine assisted services.
We aim to support children, young people, and those with additional needs by providing a safe environment for personal development and mental well-being improvement.
Our mission is rooted in compassion, growth, and community support!

We provide individuals with the opportunity to spend time in a therapeutic and nurturing environment surrounded by our wonderful therapy ponies, giving them the opportunity to build healthy relationships and thrive.

All our sessions are relaxed and allow individuals to learn and explore at their own pace in a very organic way.

Spending time with horses, allows our brains release oxytocin, the "feel-good" hormone that helps reduce stress and anxiety. Horses pick up on our emotions and can help us work through challenges in a safe, supportive way. This connection allows individuals to build emotional regulation, communication skills, and social confidence.

Equine assisted services have been proven to help with:

* Physical health

* Reducing stress and anxiety

* Improving confidence

* Building trust

* Developing healthy relationships

* Identifying and expressing emotions

* Encouraging calmness

(Please note all sessions take part on the ground with our horses, we don't offer any riding)

Donations

So that we can continue to run our sessions and provide support, we ask for a suggested minimum donations for all our sessions. We try to keep these as affordable as we can.

All suggested donations go towards the daily care of our therapy ponies.

It costs around £3,000 to care and look after just one of our therapy ponies per year

We currently have five horses/ponies within our care. We are a non profit Charity, receiving no government funding, therefore each and every donation is greatly appreciated.

Any donations can be sent to:
